I'm a bad blogger

I think about coming back here and catching things up but then life gets busy as always. Austyn just turned two last month and she has thrilled my heart every moment since she arrived!
A few things about my girl:
She's a lefty! I always had a feeling she would be even though I don't know why. She still swaps her colors back and forth but holds the crayon correctly with her left hand and seems to handle a spoon or fork better with it as well.
She is a total dare devil! This little girl never slows down and LOVES to climb. At 15 months old she fell off my bed and fractured her right wrist. She was in a bright pink cast past her elbow for four weeks. It didn't stop her from doing anything except splashing in the bathtub.
She is the sweetest loving girl I know. She has her moments but what two year old doesn't? She randomly comes up to give me kisses, hugs or tell me, "Mommy, I love you!" or "Mommy, I missed you."
I love her and I love being a mommy. Life is always busy but that won't change any time soon so we are trying to soak up every minute and have fun with our crazy sweet girl!

Any day now?

Monday I went to the Dr. for my 37 week appointment. I go every week now. She examined me and said that I am 1.5 cm dilated and 60% efaced. Austyn's head is down (she took a little while to flip) and pushing against my cervix. She said everything looked good and that if my water broke or I had contractions every 5-7 minutes that she would see me next Monday. I can't believe that she could be here at any point now. I still have a few things to do to her room and around the house to feel prepared but I'm very ready to meet her. Justin keeps telling her to come out and play but she is just playing inside for now. Yesterday she moved around a lot but today she has had longer periods of rest. I guess I will just have to be patient for now.

6 Weeks to go

It's strange that half the time I feel like I've been pregnant forever and the other half I feel like time has flown by. I look forward to meeting our precious baby girl in the next few weeks but for the time being I'm trying to soak up the alone time Justin and I still have.
Wednesday we went for our second try at the 4D ultrasound. Justin wasn't able to be there and his mom wasn't feeling well so both of my grandmas got to come. I hated that they couldn't be there but I was glad Austyn's great-grandmas were able to come. Austyn was sleeping during the ultrasound and didn't want to move her hand from in front of her face. After having me roll from side to side a few times and bouncing the wand on my tummy the tech finally got her to uncover her face. She had some shadowing from her foot that was still propped up on her forehead but we were still able to get several good pictures. It was amazing to watch her move around and know that soon I'll be able to love on her.

30 Weeks

Wow! Less than 10 weeks to my due date! It still doesn't seem real. The holidays have been very busy and I haven't found time to update the blog or anything else really. Everything is good with me and Austyn. I had my glucose test last month and everything came back fine except my iron level. That meant one more pill to take but that's nothing new for me. Other than that everything is still the same.
The week before Thanksgiving I went to register. That ended up being more overwhelming and exhausting than I had prepared myself for but I had fun doing it. Thanks to Aunt Cheryl for helping me and making me get up early to get it all done.
We left for vacation the following Friday when it was snowing. I so wish Austyn could have been here for that but maybe she will get to see snow like that in Houston one day. We had a great time at the ranch. I told Justin I don't want to be pregnant during deer season again but really it wasn't that bad. I had a hard time finding clothes that would keep me warm and be comfortable but since I spent most of my time at camp I was fine. I did get out a few different times and managed to come home with a spike, doe and turkey. I think Austyn was my good luck charm. She was also her Poppa's because we were with him riding around when he got his big buck. We are going back this weekend for Justin to have one more shot for his.
Christmas came and went way too fast this year! I am looking forward to next Christmas and all the ones after when Austyn will be here. We went to Justin's parents the weekend before Christmas and for our family get together. Christina, Sailor and Casen were all not feeling well. Casen had the hardest time though. There isn't much you can do for a sick baby so we all just held him and passed him around. Saturday morning while I was changing him he started kicking me in the stomach. Austyn didn't like that too much because she started kicking back. Casen was grinning real big and I told him it was really sweet of him to play with his cousin before she is even here. I'm excited they will be so close in age.
That same weekend Austyn started moving much stronger and now you can see her move sometimes. Christmas eve my parents were at the house and mom could see her move from across the room. That is taking some getting used to but I love it when she does it. I can rub on my stomach and she will push back. It's as close as I can get to holding her and playing with her for the next few weeks. Next Wednesday we are going for our 4D ultrasound. I'm very excited to see her face! I know it won't be the same as when I get to see her for the first time but I'm glad I will get a sneak peek before March.
Here are some pictures from the last month.

Miss Austyn Grace

Here is a shot of our baby girl from last Monday. I'm going for my 22 week check up on Friday and I'll find out from the Dr. when our next ultrasound is. I have several pictures from last week but I just haven't found the time to edit them yet. For now this will have to to. I love her sweet profile! I can't wait to see what she will really look like. On a side note since last week when she wouldn't move for the ultrasound she has turned her kicks and punches up a notch. I can tell she is starting to really grow and I guess I will start to soon. We also bought her crib on Saturday. I can't wait to put it together and settle on bedding so we can start working on her room.

It's a ...

Well we went to our ultrasound today and although I had been praying all day the baby would cooperate it didn't as well as we needed it to. The tech told me it was still a little early so I would have to come back for another ultrasound, I guess to get the rest of the measurements. At least she was able to see between the CROSSED legs twice. Enough to say, "It's a girl!" Although I half expected it to be a girl it still hasn't sunk in. I will now have to get used to saying she and her rather than "it". I'm glad though. I hated referring to my baby as "it".
After the ultrasound we went to dinner with my parents and Justin's parents. They were all very excited. I'll have to post some pictures of our little girl tomorrow. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any of dinner but there will be lots of pictures after she gets here.
On the way home we stopped by to tell Cameron and Christina. I really wish we would have thought about getting it on video but they were very anxious since this is their first time to be an aunt and uncle. I whispered in Sailor's ear to tell them what we are having and she delivered her lines perfectly. Even baby Casen was awake and alert to hear the news. Sailor was excited but still doesn't get the whole cousin thing. She thinks Casen is in my tummy. I guess for a while everytime someone has a baby in their tummy she will think it is Casen. That's okay though. I hope she loves her baby cousin as much as she loves her baby brother. I'm sure we will all adore her and I know for a fact she will be very, VERY spoiled.

What do you think?

We will find out what we are having Monday as long as the baby does what it needs to do. I've been praying he or shee isn't modest and let's us see. So what do you think we are having?

I had a cute poll to put here but it isn't working right so just leave me a comment with what you think!

Be sure to check back Tuesday to see what we are having. I promise I'll have some pictures ready by then.
